About Me:
I am a Licensed and Gestalt certified Marriage and Family therapist, a member of AAMFT (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists), and a former Theology teacher. I graduated from Franciscan University in 2006 with a degree in Theology and Catechetics and knew I wanted to teach the faith. I did teach and evangelize as a missionary in Jamaica, then as a youth minister and lastly as a Theology teacher and coach for four years. During this time in ministry I learned many things from the people I interacted with and listened to many stories. I realized that I wanted to have more professional counseling skills so that I could help people in a deeper way. This led me to a Masters program in Marriage and Family therapy. I chose this program not because I wanted to work only with families and couples, but because I knew that each person I came in contact with was from a family system. Therefore I look at therapy through a systemic lens. We are all connected to our family of origin and many other systems like church communities and work communities. Therapy is a place to explore one's self and heal, to find the tools to live a more full life and to be empowered. I have worked with many different issues in the context of the therapeutic relationship and it would be an honor to work with you. If you are not sure if I can help with your situation please call and ask. I look forward to hearing from you.
